After our DC trip, we drove up to New Jersey with Kurt's family and stayed with them for a week before Hill Cumorah Pageant. One of our first visits into New York City was Brighton Beach. The Brighton Beach area is full of Russian speakers and shops and restaurants. On our way from the subway to the beach we saw some vendors selling beautiful jewelry. Kurt spoke some even more beautiful Russian with the babushka and got me a lovely brooch. Then we went to the beach to lay out, read, and relax.
We forgot to bring towels with us so we had to use our clothes for laying on the sand. When we stood up we realized it looked pretty funny and decided to take a picture :)

Before leaving Brighton we stopped for some Russian food called pirozhki. So Yummy!!! Kurt got to use his Russian to get us food here as well. He is so impressive. It was fun for me to see him using his Russian.
The pirozhki...it was SO good!
Times Square Hershey Store!
Kurt surrounded by what he loves...probably only second to me, and a very close second at that ;) Upon seeing this caption Kurt informed me that he loves me way, WAY more...but I think based on how happy looks in this picture you can tell he definitely loves Reese's.
On our way back to the subway we had to go through Times Square and ran into the premier for Transformers 2 (or 3), we're not really fans, but it is fun to just accidentally run into "the red carpet", especially when you're a small town girl, from Abingdon, VA. New York City is such a happening place and it's so fun to go into the city, but it can also be rather exhausting.
