Honeymoon- Universal Studios

We had so much fun on our trip to Universal Studios. We were so tired after that, but it was definitely worth it.

We went to a couple different shows, one of which was this "Aggro" show with bike/skating stunts. It was very impressive.

Dragon Challenge. It was our last ride of the evening and it was so cool! The line to get to the roller coaster went through the big tent that all those competing in the Triwizard tournament waited in for their turn to fight a dragon. The ride was really fun too!
Butter beer!!!! We loved this stuff. In fact, once we made it out to Utah we looked up some recipes online and made ourselves some delicious homemade butter beer, and we decided that having a big Harry Potter party to celebrate Halloween would make for one super fun tradition!

This is a picture that definitely shows some fatigue. We were SO tired and very hungry. We ate at Mythos and it looked like a huge cave inside. It's supposedly one of the best amusement park restaurants, and it was pretty good!

In the background you can see the Harry Potter castle. It was pretty impressive. That whole section of the park was amazing!
This was our big and exciting day in Universal Studios, Orlando. It was SO much fun!!!

Honeymoon!

This was in front of the sign where we got ice cream. It reminded us a lot of the creamery, where you get lots of ice cream for not too much, but it's SO good! Look how dark we are!!
Posing on the golf course that we had all to ourselves. Apparently all the locals know not to golf on this course when the sun is setting.
This is at the New Smyrna beach. We spent a day in New Smyrna and after the beach we went golfing, and then out for ice cream at a cute place called the Banana Split Republic and it was SO good!!
Playing in the sand! We were just about to jump, but hadn't quite left the ground yet. Notice our orange little anklets? We had to wear those so security for the resort knew we were allowed to be there. We got some cool tans from them, and the day we got to take them off Kurt's response was, "We're free!!"
We had "Spa night" one night. We ate cereal while watching a chic flick. Then we made strawberry milkshakes and put on some exfoliating masks.
This was our leftover food from Olive Garden so we made another romantic dinner while watching a movie one night. Ever since our "Night in Italy" with the Van Wagenen's I have become quite obsessed with tortellini, but "Mama Rosa's" is definitely the best!

Our car was so packed! Everywhere we went it was like playing Tetris to get it all to fit back in the car...what an adventure!

Abingdon Wedding Reception

So as most things this summer went, Saturday, (July 31st) the day of our reception in Abingdon we were told we were not allowed to use tables from the church and it rained ALL day (literally). These were minor set backs that my experienced mama took care of with ease. We rented tables and a huge white tent to cover our newly renovated deck. Kurt and I drove from D.C. to Abingdon that day and didn't arrive to my house until much later then had been expected, so there was some stress, but all the most important things worked out. We had beautiful pictures, despite being unable to pose in the yard or outside, and had a house full of our family and wonderful friends. We had a line for the first hour or then my sisters sang "For Good" from Wicked, which was so sweet and I loved it!!! But it made me cry a bit. Then Kurt and I ate for a few minutes while Katie played the piano for us, and I believe everyone else decorated our car. Following our brief break, we cut our beautiful cake. Later on we had a few toasts from the girls and myself (I dedicated my bouquet to my mom/hero). Then we had our dance! It was such a party!!!

Wedding Day!

Kurt and I were married July 30, 2010. What a day!!! We were married in the Washington D.C. temple and it was so beautiful and so amazing! We have so many fun pictures and memories with our families. Our sealing was at noon, followed by a 2 hour photo session, and then a wedding luncheon with the family and friends. The wedding luncheon was catered by the Cheesecake Factory and was SO good! After that we were free until our reception the next evening in Abingdon, VA.
