Big Trip East Continued!

Between Erin's wedding at the temple and her reception that evening we spent some time in DC. It was such a blast.

Visiting the Library of Congress. We expected to spend just a few minutes there because we weren't sure the boys would like it that much, but this place was awesome!! The boys loved it and so did the rest of us and we stayed there for over 2 hours and only left because we had to be on our way to Mount Vernon. We had such a good time there!

Mount Vernon!

This is a model of Mount Vernon in the visitors center. We went through this visitor center to watch a video before we went up to the house for a tour.

The Start of Our Big Summer Trip

We got to go on an amazing summer vacation this year. It lasted from the end of June to the beginning of August and it was such a blast. We started our trip in Baltimore where we got an awesome Chipotle walking tour of the Harbor given by our guide Emily Clay. We had a fun time getting to catch up with her and getting to see some of the sites.

Then we got to go to the DC temple almost exactly one year after our wonderful wedding day! My cousin Erin got married in the DC temple and we met my family at the temple to spend the day celebrating Erin's wedding.

More Catching Up!

Once Winter semester was over we went out for a little "drink night" at Spark in Provo. We went with Sara, Kurt's younger sister, and the drinks were so good that we decided to host our own mocktail :)

It was really fun so we'll definitely have another one. There were so many people that came, our apartment was completely full. I think we had almost 20 people over!

We also had a fun tea party with a few of my roommates from last year, Nicole and Margrethe. We all felt very dignified.

I felt like a good photographer with this picture of the tea cup and tea biscuits.

Kurt and I also decided that we wanted to plant a little, tiny garden that could fit on our doorstep. It was a good adventure and we got a lot more than I expected from our little plants.

We went on the Provo City Gallery Stroll in May with Mandy and Trever. It was reminiscent of a few years ago.

On our stroll we also came across a Roof Top concert that Provo did throughout the summer so we decided to stop by and enjoy the concert while we were there.

My First Blog...Post!! (Catching us up from the past year)

Whazzup???!!!! This is Kurt and this is my first blog post. I wasn't sure how to start my post, so naturally whazzup seemed to be the the best option.

So Sarah and I had noticed that that last post on our blog was posted in January and it was written about Thanksgiving weekend, so we realized that we had some catching up to do. So, this post will recap the past year, but we'll keep it simple.

Also, I am going to try and start posting things so that we can stay more up to date. We don't have too much time for blogging, but we figure that if we can both do it every once in a while, we will do a lot better.

So, here we go...

December 2010 - The highlights from this month were the end of a semester and, of course, Christmas with the Bausermans!!

This is us playing Pandemic, a really fun board game where you fight diseases, during the Christmas break. We were victorious!! The world has never been safer.

February 2011 - Valentine's Day

We got a fun Valentine's Day package from Sarah's mom!

We went on a hot date together to Olive Garden, and got each other little Valentine's day gifts.

March 2011- Las Vegas trip and Sarah's Birthday

BYU's basketball had a great year, making it to the Sweet 16, and had the National Player of the Year, Jimmer Freddette. We got to watch a lot of great basketball this past winter. Sarah's whole family flew out to Las Vegas in March for the Mountain West Conference Tournament where we saw Jimmer score 52 points against New Mexico!

We stopped in St. George on the way home to go to church (we went to a Spanish ward, muy bueno!) and here we are in front of the beautiful St. George temple.

On the 21st of March we celebrated Sarah's 22nd birthday! We had a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill.

Since, her birthday was during the week, we waited until the weekend to have a big party with friends. This is a cake that Shana made for her.

And that updates us through March, but there's plenty more still to come!

Black Friday Shopping with Leah & Jonny!

We went to Mod-Bod first and only had to sit outside for a few minutes before they let us in. We had fun sitting on our boys' laps and watching a TV show on Jonny's ipad. Then we got some sweet deals for swimming suits and workout clothes and cute tank tops.


After Mod Bod we headed over to Wal-Mart and it was a zoo!!!! We were a great team though. We went for the $5 movies and got right in with the crowd trying to get all the best movies. It definitely got a little vicious, but we had so much fun and got some good movies! This is Kurt and Jonny showing off all the movies we got.Like I said people got viscous!

Leah and I feeling a little scared of the mobs of people that wanted to get the sweet deals too! I was literally smashed into one of the big cases full of dvds and definitely understand that deals are deals, but people are more important...I think some people forget that. Altogether it was such a fun night!!!!

Margrethe & Jonah's Wedding Reception

My dear roommate from last year got married over Thanksgiving break and their reception was beautiful as were the bride and groom.

This was a really sweet idea! It was a table with pictures of both of their parents and grandparents on their wedding day. Definitely a beautiful display of eternal families.

Halloween and other fun times!

This year Kurt and I dressed up as Mardi Gras people. We bought masks in New Orleans, on our honeymoon and had fun dressing up. We had so much fun and definitely looked pretty crazy!

On the actual day of Halloween we had Katie and Shana over for dinner and for desert we celebrated with Butter Beer and an orange cake with brown frosting...our pumpkin cake.
This is my sweet and darling husband who always manages to make me laugh...this is him eating his orange; he will be such a good dad some day.

These were some delicious smoothies that we made. We love smoothies and get creative; these ones even included some pomegranate juice (which took a while), but they were so good!

We also have enjoyed making banana and chocolate chip pancakes, which are also delicious and good motivation to get up and be productive on Saturday mornings.

And this is Kurt making those delicious pancakes. He's much better at making them big and fluffy and perfect.

This is at a basketball game with our dear friends Trevor and Jessie Slezak. We had a delicious chili dinner with them before the game and have doubled with them a lot. They are so much fun! We have quite a history with the Slezak's because my parents both knew Trevor's dad when they worked at the MTC and then Jessie's mom served in the same mission as my mom. Also, Trevor served in the same mission as Kurt; so a lot of connections.This is an example of how poor Kurt and I are sometimes. We had our light bulbs go out in the kitchen and didn't have time to go and get new light bulbs so we were very innovative and used a desk lamp to light our kitchen. If you look very closely you can see it clipped to one of the shelves in the background. Needless to say our wiring is not very good in our apartment so there is only one bulb that works in the kitchen, but we love it here. Life together makes everything else worth it; even having to clip a desk lamp to a shelf.
